A: Seems to be using legs normally. Good strength in both on palpation and has been regularly perching and footing with them. Grip strength normal in both feet. OD retinal tear reduced since admit. Debris obscuring retina appears static but patient is obviously visual in both eyes with very strong menace/bite response when trying to perform fundic. Can likely move outside once fecal is clear. May want to move to individual housing outside to observe movement more closely than would be able to with other baby GHOWs.

P: Discontinue meloxicam. Discontinue gabapentin. Move outside to individual housing once fecal negative. Move in with other babies if does well in individual housing.

O: Respirations sound creaky/strained. Slight arrythmia. Performed follow up exam. No fecal in cage, just a few urate spots, nothing came out when expressed. Drew blood from L leg, TS a bit elevated. Gave meds and fluids. mAten on own so dropped 60g rat

A: Looks like something happened to L P8-10 at some point that caused them to start regrowing. Ocular trauma but appears visual in both eyes. Good tone and strength in legs when struggling but seems unable to get them under body to stand normally and both come forward causing bird to fall back. No bruising or swelling seen. Give a few days to rest and then start PT

P: 4/16 start PT SID on both legs. Follow up 'vet' check in 1 week. Try again on fecal tomorrow.

Initial treatment: 0.82 Meloxicam; 0.13 cc Gabapentin

A: Patient is a fledgling that is suffering from spinal trauma and ocular trauma. Guarded prognosis due to spinal trauma. Patient did display some leg use when placed on ground, but could not stay on standing for long. Did deficate on floor and will monitor to make sure that bird can pass feces regularly. Will give cage rest to see if leguse improves.

P: Rx Meloxicam, Gabpentin and fluids. Monitor leg use. Check vent daily and express if no feces are found in cage. Could prescribe TMS if patient starts having trouble deficating. Vet check 4/15. Colelct fecal and blood 4/14.
